iPad Apps For School

This site is set up to give a brief overview of educational apps. There is an alphabetical list of apps on the right side of the page. Use the labels on the right side of the page to filter for specific types of apps. The "EWSHS Availability" section of each post is a resource specifically for the teachers at my high school. Socrative

Socrative is a polling app that allows you to set up interactive classroom lessons. There is a teacher and a student version of the app. You will need to create an account in order to use this app. Once logged in, you can create activities using multiple choice, true/false, and short answer questions.

Quizzes can be teacher paced, where the teacher controls when questions appear, or student paced, where students move through the quiz at their own speed. Once the teacher activates a quiz, students open the student version of the app and use the teacher's "room number" to access the quiz. The app will send the results of the quiz as an excel file to the teacher's email address when requested.
